Our Story
Technology has changed the real estate landscape over the past decade and continues to do so. Founded by Carol Tallon in 2015, Proptech Ireland is leading and facilitating that change by connecting Ireland-based technology innovators with industry organisations and investors (angel and VC). Our expert team works strategically with startups, from discovery, right through to product development and deployment. We also work with new proptech providers exploring entry into the Irish marketplace. As part of a globally-connected network of 24 hubs, Proptech Ireland has access to emerging technologies from around the world and our team collaborates with organisations establishing international standards and best practice in this sector. For real estate companies to be successful, innovation is now a critical competency. Within traditional organisations, Proptech Ireland consultants take on the role of in-house digital transformation and ESG strategists, advising on tech suitability, procurement, and ROI calculations – from vision to operational veracity.

Why Proptech?
The term PropTech refers to a property business, not a technology business. It involves the use of property industry-specific technology to offer consumers a better, faster, more personal and more interconnected service when they are engaging with the industry.
The technology should set about solving existing problems in the market. This explains why development is primarily consumer rather than industry-driven. In practice, the industry is still working from the same understanding of the customer that we had more than a decade ago. Meaningful innovation must be based on what this current generation of renters and buyers actually want. And it is not just about current need, this new sector will need to pre-empt future needs.
