KPMG Private Enterprise has launched its third annual Tech Innovator competition in Ireland, inviting tech innovators from across the country to present their growth ambitions and innovations to a panel of judges. The competition is open to Irish tech entrepreneurs and start-ups which are pure technology, tech-enabled, tech-led, or tech-driven. Shortlisted entrants will pitch their ideas to a panel of judges, which includes successful entrepreneurs and investors.

Anna Scally, Head of Technology & Media at KPMG, said that the competition aims to support the continued growth of Ireland’s tech sector and the entrepreneurs who are becoming the next generation of technology leaders.

“Regardless of where they are on their business journey, we’re inviting tech innovators throughout the country and the region to consider this extraordinary opportunity to introduce their innovations to the world and take their businesses to the next level,”

The overall winner in Ireland will progress to the Global Tech Innovator final to be held during Web Summit 2023 in Lisbon in November. The prize includes travel and accommodation to Lisbon, tickets to Web Summit as part of KPMG’s delegation, an exhibition stand for one day, and access to exclusive networking events and mentoring opportunities.

The competition is open to all technology companies which have operated for five years or less, have generated revenue between USD $1-10m (or have raised at least $500,000 in equity) and are registered and based in Ireland or Northern Ireland. Applications must be submitted by 30 May 2023, and all entrants must be available to appear in-person for the Ireland final, which will be held in Dublin on 27 June 2023.

Last year, Ireland’s entrant Provizio, fronted by Limerick man Barry Lunn, won the Irish competition and came third overall at the global final in Lisbon. Niall Flood, Managing Director, Corporate Finance, said that being selected as a finalist in the Global Tech Innovator competition can be a huge accelerant to a business-
